Case Studies

Mater Misericordiae Hospitals Macdonald Consultancy provides asset management consultancy services including asset audits, life cycle model development, businesses analysis and asset management strategies across this clients’ state-wide portfolio of more than twelve hospitals, including:

- Mater Children’s Private, Brisbane, QLD

Hopkins Correctional Centre Macdonald Consultancy was engaged by the SPV who owned the DBFO (design, build, finance and operate) PPP contract with the state for this 800-person, medium security prison in Ararat, Victoria. Macdonald Consultancy undertook a technical due diligence audit of the facility. The scope of the commission included:
- Asset audit
- Life cycle budget review
- Opex review
- Risk review of performance mechanism
Macdonald Consultancy’s report was distributed to prospective bidders to enable them to appraise themselves of the opportunity during the tender stage.
Navitas Macdonald Consultancy provided FM procurement support, assisting Navitas to secure an FM provider for this national portfolio through a range of activities that included:

City of Darebin A strategic review of FM provision for this metro council in Melbourne. Macdonald Consultancy embedded a consultant in the clients FM team over a ten-week period to provide interim support and develop an understanding of the client’s approach to FM. The report included the following areas of review:
- Compliance, KPIs and SLAs
- Supply chain
- FM Service delivery model
- Resourcing assessment
- Health and safety
The commission concluded with an options appraisal to address identified issues.
Venues West Venues West owns and manages a portfolio of 13 venues in WA including Optus Stadium, RAC Arena and HBF Stadium. Macdonald Consultancy delivered a strategic review of FM provision including:
- Investigating the current model
- Researching alternative models
- Providing an options appraisal to Venues West
- Investigating opportunities to improve quality and cost
- Develop an implementation plan
Southern Cross Station Honeywell is the FM provider on this PPP contract. Macdonald Consultancy have been delivering a broad range of services to Honeywell’s various PPP and traditional FM contracts throughout Australia continuously since our establishment in 2017.
